Oprah Winfrey celebrated her 70th birthday by showing her sporty side on a beach, and revealed she is feeling thankful for her health.
The television superstar celebrated the occasion on Monday (January 29) with a video jogging next to the ocean alongside a dog, which appeared to be her cocker spaniel, Sadie.
She posted the video paired with the song ‘Golden’ by Jill Scott alongside the caption: “This is 70!”
Oprah added: “Celebrating 70 with a run on the beach. #healthisthebestgift. “Thank you for all the birthday love
Orpah said: “It was a public sport to make fun of me for 25 years. I have been blamed and shamed, and I blamed and shamed myself.”
One embarrassing moment according to Oprah was when she was named one of the worst-dressed celebrities by fashion critic Mr Blackwell alongside the headline: ‘Dumpy, Frumpy, and Downright Lumpy.”
Orpah explained that the moment made her feel incredibly ashamed instead of upset or angry. She said: “I swallowed the shame. I accepted that it was my fault.”
Oprah said that she has now “released her own shame” about her struggle with weight loss and ended up speaking to a doctor who prescribed her Ozempic.
She said: “I realized I’d been blaming myself all these years for being overweight, and I have a predisposition that no amount of willpower is going to control.”
“Obesity is a disease. It’s not about willpower — it’s about the brain.”

Since losing weight, Oprah has begun hiking and sets new distance goals for herself every week, and now enjoys doing a 10-mile hike at the weekend.
She also said that she now eats her last meal by 4pm and has credited WeightWatchers for helping her keep track of her meals while also drinking a gallon of water each day.
While Oprah feels stronger and fitter , she has stressed that she wants people to know there is no shame in struggling with weight loss or taking Ozempic to help on a weight-loss journey.
Oprah added: “The fact that there’s a medically approved prescription for managing weight and staying healthier, in my lifetime, feels like relief, like redemption, like a gift, and not something to hide behind and once again be ridiculed for.
“I’m absolutely done with the shaming from other people and particularly myself.”
